DIABETES - Public Health Talk in Melaka
In conjunction with World Diabetes Day, I was given the opportunity to give a public health talk entitled “Diabetes and the EYE” which I believe that it is a highly relevant topic to be addressed with Malaysians being the “very sweet” population which in this context is not exactly something we should be proud of. We have one highest prevalence of diabetes in the region. Hence, it was an excellent opportunity to shed light on diabetes and how it affects the eye, what to look out for if you’re diabetic, what can you do to prevent diabetic eye complications and also on current available treatments for the disease and the complications.
