The occurrence increase with age and more prevalent in female.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d43f966 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d43f966\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p><strong>What are the symptoms of dry\u00a0eye?<\/strong><\/p><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-9lq2i\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"auto\">Scratchy sensation or the feeling that something is in the eye would be the most common among other symptoms such as stinging or burning, discharge, pain, and redness in the eye. Blurred vision is also common. You may not have to wait for blurring of vision to see your friendly ophthalmologists.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-479a1e6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"479a1e6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p><strong>What causes\u00a0dry\u00a0eye?<\/strong><\/p><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-94itc\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Dry eye can occur when basal tear production decreases, tear evaporation increases, or tear composition is imbalanced. Common causes of dry eyes:<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><ul class=\"_4ZJKX KVAVd\"><li class=\"qUi3b\" dir=\"auto\" aria-level=\"1\"><p id=\"viewer-9rbcf\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Medications including antihistamines, decongestants, antidepressants, birth control pills, hormonal therapy, medications for anxiety, Parkinson\u2019s disease &amp; high blood pressure.<\/span><\/p><\/li><li class=\"qUi3b\" dir=\"auto\" aria-level=\"1\"><p id=\"viewer-3e54t\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Decline in tear production with age. People age 50 years or\u00a0older are at higher risk. <\/span><\/p><\/li><li class=\"qUi3b\" dir=\"auto\" aria-level=\"1\"><p id=\"viewer-8lvlj\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Rosacea (an inflammatory skin disease) and blepharitis (an inflammatory eyelid disease).<\/span><\/p><\/li><li class=\"qUi3b\" dir=\"auto\" aria-level=\"1\"><p id=\"viewer-6c2hh\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Autoimmune disorders such as Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s syndrome, lupus, scleroderma, and rheumatoid arthritis and other disorders such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and Vitamin A deficiency.<\/span><\/p><\/li><li class=\"qUi3b\" dir=\"auto\" aria-level=\"1\"><p id=\"viewer-23svp\" class=\"IFLJx f1-1G KVAVd sDlj2\" dir=\"\"><span class=\"GnvzP\">Women are more likely to develop dry eye.
